Our Wildflower Meadow Project – On-Site Inspection

In April 2023, an insect paradise was created in collaboration with the Saalfeld 1903 Beekeeper Association and class 2a (now 3a) of the Kamsdorf Musical Primary School near our lime storage bunker along the cycle path of the federal road B281. On Monday, 23 October 2023, the pupils were able to get an up-to-date picture of "their" flower meadow for native wild bees and insects.

To round off an exciting and interesting tour, each child received a small honey jar, the lid of which could be painted with their very own flower motif and taken home as a souvenir. With winter just around the corner, we provided them with "something for their ears": a new hat with the SWT logo for the cold season.

Once again, we would like to thank everyone involved for their great commitment and excellent cooperation in all phases of the project.

Special thanks go to Mr Ralf Kunz from the Saalfeld Beekeepers' Association 1903 e.V., Mr Thomas Köhler, Chairman of Agriculture and the Environment, the employees of Köhler Landschaftspflege und Service GmbH and the teachers from the Kamsdorf Primary Music School.
